Recording Oracy @ the Hippo.
Yesterday myself and Olly recorded St Ives own: Oracy. The aim, capture all their their songs in preparation for (potentially) a dBs Music release.
The Star Trek looking prop above is the Hippo’s Digidesign Venue Profile system, used to record the band onstage. Never used one of these before but Olly and I got it down pretty quick. Once tapped from the stage the audio just flys down a single firewire cable onto the MacBook Pro running Protools. Setting it up was the only hard bit cause it’s all so heavy…
Props to Olly for putting in the hard work, made me realise how different the live and studio engineering worlds are.
